When I successfully landed Lululemon's SDE in the U.S. in another way! I have to say that Drillinsight really helped me solve the big problem, allowing me to give up FAANG and find another way to survive!
If you are looking for a job in the U.S., your usual way of thinking is to go straight to the big companies, Google, Amazon, etc., and then start the traditional interview process, prepare algorithmic questions, brush up on LeetCode, and then wait for the screening. All are exactly the same process, I feel that this road is too competitive, and very often, the interview process and the final result does not depend entirely on the level of their own ability, but depends on the interviewer's preference, resume matching degree and other factors.
Luckily, I chose the “other way” strategy, because I knew clearly that my ability was not suitable for FAANG, so I paid more attention to some companies with great company culture and provide room for growth, and after I learned about the company culture, I found that I liked it so much, and they also had SDE positions, which made me very excited. So I applied for the SDE position, and I got a good result in the end!
Although the interview process is kind of easy enough, it is divided into two parts: technical and cultural:
Lululemon's technical interview is not like the traditional big factory interview, they pay more attention to the actual problem solving ability, will also examine the algorithm questions, but the difficulty is not particularly large, is a question based on data structure, need me to design an algorithm to optimize the query speed of the sports data; there is also a system design questions, because their new products will be out of some of the clothing on the sports style, so I let me design a fitness social media platform; for a new product, I will be a sportsman, so I will be a sportsman. I was asked to design a fitness social platform; they also looked into writing code, mainly to process some sensor data and analyze it in real time.
Lululemon emphasizes more on cultural interviews and cares more about values and teamwork ability, I was asked 3 questions when I went there:
After my interview, I realized that interviewers in this “non-traditional” industry would be more inclined to see how I solve problems and break down issues. Fortunately, I had prepared carefully before the interview, and almost all of the questions I had prepared before were answered, so overall, the interview was quite enjoyable. The most pleasant thing is to get an offer!
